The Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability provides a flexible study programme. It offers not only advanced level studies for graduates in Environmental Science, but also components for many other graduates, coming from other areas, who want to include an environmentalist profile in their CV. The different specialized approaches in this master include: Ecological Economics, Science and Management of Global Change, Environmental Technology and Urban and Industrial Ecology.

Students will obtain a Master of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability awarded by UAB and recognised by all EU countries. Training will provide students with a solid and broad scientific background in the area of expertise chosen, critical thinking, and good writing and presentation abilities. Given that most courses and course material will be provided in the English language, and the teaching staff is International, students will be able to improve their level of spoken and written English.
By bringing ICTA scholars and students from all over the world together in a rich and challenging study program, the MSc aims to train prospective academics and professionals in analysing and understanding environmental problems and complexities from a multi- and interdisciplinary perspective. Graduates will successfully handle all major aspects of their professional field and have an extensive overview of new developments and potential future trends in the area. Graduates will be brought in contact with various enterprises and institutions in the public and private sector.
The MSc programme is open to students with diverse education backgrounds, as it offers a 4-week introductory module that covers basic concepts and approaches that cut across the different areas of expertise offered in the MSc program. High competence in written and spoken English is preferable, insofar as most lectures are delivered in English. Students must certify a command of English Language at a level equivalent to the First Certificate (B2) for the students to take the specelisation “Industrial and Urban Ecology”. To take the specialisations "Ecological Economics" and “Global Change”, you will need to prove they have an advanced level (C1) or equivalent.
