Laura Calvet-Mir, PhD (ORCID: 0000-0002-7022-6342), was born in Spain in 1983. She graduated in Environmental Sciences (2006) at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain. She has a master degree in Ecological Economics (UAB, 2007) and a PhD in Environmental Sciences for the same university (2011). Currently she is a senior researcher at Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3), Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and associate researcher at Institut de Ciència i Tecnologia Ambientals (ICTA), UAB. She has worked on national and international interdisciplinary projects since 2007 with anthropologists, sociologists, biologists, agronomists, economists, urban planners and landscape architects, etc. She has 20 scientific articles in international journals and has also written several outreach articles.
Laura Calvet-Mir mainly works on rural and urban agriculture from the lens of ethnoecology, agroecolgy and political ecology. She has deeply analyzed conservation of agrobiodiversity and traditional ecological knowledge in industrialized settings. She also works in the assessment of ecosystem services in social-ecological systems and the mechanisms to preserve them. Finally, she is very interested in social network analysis to improve governance of natural resources.
