Davant la complexa relació entre el medi ambient i la salut de les persones, els models matemàtics poden aportar una nova visió complementària a la de l’ecologia o la medicina. Durant aquesta sessió es pretén exposar com els models matemàtics poden actuar com una eina sòlida que aporti nova informació per tal de descriure les interaccions entre la salut i el medi ambient a gran escala.

Cicle “Medi ambient i salut humana”

Durant el curs 2018-2019, l’Oficina del Club de Roma a Barcelona, conjuntament amb l’Obra Social de “la Caixa” i sota la coordinació del grup de recerca en Conservació, Biodiversitat i Canvi Global de l’ICTA-UAB, organitza aquest cicle de conferències sobre “Medi ambient i salut humana”.

Un total de 9 jornades en què es tractarà com la biogeografia, els espais naturals protegits, la química del bosc, les ciutats, la fauna, la microbiologia humana i ambiental, i la demografia poden tenir efectes sobre la salut humana. Aquest cicle es concep amb la finalitat d'abordar, d'una forma amena, rigorosa i entenedora, aquestes diverses temàtiques que comprenen l'actualitat científica del país. El format del cicle constarà de la presentació i posterior contraposició de diferents perspectives científiques de la mà de científics de renom i de joves investigadors que focalitzen la seva recerca emergent en l'estudi de les possibles interaccions entre el medi ambient i la salut humana.
